Good Grief

Author: Dr Zita Weber

GOOD GRIEF is a book for everyone.

Loss is part of our daily life. Grief visits us all. There are many incidental and inevitable losses and let-downs, as well as major losses in life.

Dr Zita Weber introduces you to ideas and theories about loss and grief...

You will be given information to help you make sense of your experience and tasks to encourage you to be active in your grief-work.

You will be encouraged to read and write through your grief.

You will read about other people's stories of coping with loss and grief and how they moved on with their lives.

You will gain a greater understanding of how you can cope with your loss and move forward with your life.

This book is simple, realistic and reassuring. It offers excellent counsel for those who understand that doing their `grief-work' is important if they are to turn grief into growth and loss into gain.

Grieving is a healing process.

Good grief leads to good health.

Sometimes the sense of loss and grief we experience leads to feelings of despair. Life seems to lose its meaning. Good Grief shows that a satisfying and meaningful life is possible after loss - if our grief is resolved.

Zita Annette Weber, PhD is a lecturer in the Department of Social work, Social Policy and Sociology at the University of Sydney. She Las a strong research and clinical practice background. She has practised and taught in Australia and the United States. Her practice has included individual therapy, group work and relationship and family counselling. Her special research areas of interest are mental health issues, particularly as they relate to women, grief and loss, relationships and sexuality.
